Your AI Transformation Has Too Many Handoffs

AI can make every person in a delivery chain faster and still leave most of the delay untouched. The analyst writes faster. The developer codes faster. The tester tests faster. The problem still travels through the same queue.
The more interesting change is when the person who understands a problem can build the solution, use it and improve it from direct feedback. That is not a faster handoff. It is a shorter loop.
What the talk covers
- The person, not just the application. A colleague doing recurring accounting work built a solution to a problem they understood firsthand.
- Full-stack operators. Judgment, implementation and accountability stay with the person who owns the outcome.
- Shorter feedback loops. Speed matters because people can try something, see what happens and improve it without repeatedly transferring the context.
- A different organisation. Shared capabilities and independent checks support ownership instead of recreating a chain of approvals.
The central question
If implementation is no longer scarce, why is your company still organised around transferring work to the people who can implement?
Who it is for
CEOs, strategy and transformation leaders, CTOs and people leaders asking how AI changes the organisation itself—not just the tools used inside existing departments. The focus is judgment, ownership and end-to-end accountability, rather than a technical product demonstration.
Where this had reached
This is the next chapter of the internal-platform story introduced at Vienna AI Engineering: from making it possible for colleagues to build software to asking what changes when the person closest to a problem can own the whole loop. The talk draws on that experience at EXANTE; it is an account of work in progress, not a claim that every department has already changed.
